Jam Time

This past Wednesday me and my mum got together to make some jam. I was so excited because I am a homemade jam addict. We would have been out completely out but luckily Jims mum saved me with some wonderful peach jam. So now I have jam for ages.

Busy Busy Bees

I know I said I was going to be better, but I have been trying to keep really busy so I don’t have to sit and miss my hubby. Well I defiantly got what I asked for. Now I would much rather sit then do what I have been up to. First up: tennis. It started as a fun, one a week play date with some girls. Now I’m running and sweating, and running and actually having to work out. This was defiantly not in my plan. It was just suppose to be relaxing hit the ball once in a while and learn the rules. My legs hurt. Second: Primary. Yes that’s right, I’m primary secretary. Now most of the time this wouldn’t be that bad. But oh no, not for me. So let’s just say our ward hasn’t had a secretary for about 7 months (long story) which means no rolls, no rosters, no class schedules, no order, no systems of any kind. I think I passed out when I was asked to do everything. So enter me, kids screaming, crying, yelling, talking, making every noise possible all at once. Now I know im not a mother so maybe I expect more from them then those of you with real life experience. But GIVE ME A BREAK! They can hold “IT” for an hour, they can sit still, they can be quite they don’t have to poke the person in front of them, they don’t have to take off their clothes, play with themselves…yes play with themselves, lay on the ground or run away! Help! Any suggestions are welcome.

Oh yeah Jim…he’s working, just working and always working.

A Pea in a Pod

To my Pod,
Over the past few weeks I have come to realize that I will be a mother in the not so far off future, it could actually happen now ( not yet). While this comes as exciting new time in my life I step back and think… mom...me? Who is going to take care of me? So I began to reflect on my own experiences with you. How did you deal with all the heartache a mother goes through? Kids are mean and angry. Thinking of how I treated you during my teen years makes me cringe. I’m not strong enough to always be the bad guy, to have doors slammed in my face, to be told I’m hated. How did you do it? Because though it all you have been strong, secure, faithful, loving, selfless, understanding, tender, giving, devoted, warm, thoughtful, energetic, friendly, gentle, constant and so much more.
You have done so much and still take no credit for the incredible mother you are. So here are some things that are way over due for a thank you: When I was little you picked me up and kissed my aches and scrapes away. Cuddled with me till I fell asleep. Made sure there were no bed bugs. Let me pick out all my own clothes, no matter how many colors I had on at one. For the hundreds of bows I made you put in my hair. For every note you put in my lunch box. For sharing your raisin nuts with me, which meant I would give you one and eat the rest. For playing treasure chest with me. And when I got older for still putting notes in my back pack. For kissing my aches and scrapes thought this time they were on my heart. Staying up till who know when making the perfect prom dresses. For always coming in to make sure I was asleep safe and sound every night no matter how old I was. Reminding me to be gracious all the time. For being my friend.
I may not be able to be the remarkable mother you are, but atleast my kids will get to have you as their grandma.
Love you forever,
Your pea

Ready Set GO!

Ok im officially re-starting my blog. I promise to be good and write even though the coming months will only say.."another day alone at home." Oh the joys of tax season.

So last night i wasn't feeling great so Jim made us dinner. While i pathetically laid on the couch Jim made scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. We ate then he did the dishes. When he is done he plops on the couch and says " I cant believe how hard that was. It takes a lot of time and energy to do all that. I cant imagine doing it every day." I just look at my dear dear husband and shake my head.

Our very own Christmas tree

Alright i have no idea what to do. So i will just start by talking about our first Christmas tree. I was so excited to go get one as soon as possible but Jim made me wait till after Thanksgiving. We went out on the 1st to go buy one. Well when we got there we realized we had no idea what we were doing. There were so many kinds and sizes. We were so lost. But lucky for us some family friends came to get their tree. We ended up just following them around and doing what they did. It worked though because we have the best tree around. But man trying to get it to our second floor apartment...Jim said it was really hard. I wouldnt know, it looked to heavy for me. After we finally got it all set up we started to decorate but ran out of lights. Give me a break i had never done this before. So our little date night turned into an adventure. Now it is all done and wonderful. But i did have to take away some candy canes when Jim wasnt looking. He got a little carried away.
